The Design Intent: Textured Minimalism
For this project, the goal was to create a space that felt both expansive and incredibly detailed. By mixing finishes—glossy tile, matte stone, and natural wood—we created a 'Modern Coastal' aesthetic that feels unique to the Gulf Coast lifestyle.
Craftsmanship Details
Custom Hood Shroud: We designed a tiered, architectural hood shroud featuring natural wood accents that bridge the gap between the modern cabinetry and the organic textures found elsewhere in the home.
Intricate Tilework: The perimeter features a classic herringbone backsplash that adds movement and sophistication, while the area above the cabinetry utilizes stacked stone to reach the ceiling, adding architectural height.
Integrated 'Ambient' Lighting: The upper cabinets feature frosted glass inserts with internal LED lighting, turning the storage into a luminous design feature during evening hours.
Full-Scale Pantry Wall: To maximize the kitchen's footprint, we installed a floor-to-ceiling pantry system surrounding a professional-grade refrigerator, ensuring every inch of the wall is used for functional storage.
